Every time I walk past this 1932 Maytag washing machine motor I can't resist giving it a kick...in this case it was a hand push. There's little to no technology here with this 2 stroke hit-and-miss motor. Basically it runs by accident as witnessed by this hand slap that inspired it to kick over (cold) after sitting for more than a week. Best I can tell, her governor will only close her points to let her light up once every 16 revs to keep her at about 900 RPM. Don't know about y'all, but for me, her heartbeat rivals any classic symphony I've ever heard.
